Lumbard, the current Chair of Tustin’s Planning Commission, enters the race with a broad coalition of support
TUSTIN, Calif. – Today, Austin Lumbard officially announced his candidacy for Tustin City Council. Mr. Lumbard has completed all necessary filing requirements to appear on the ballot this November and has already garnered broad support across the City of Tustin among community leaders and families.
“The unique charm of Tustin is unmatched across the county,” said Mr. Lumbard. “I am committed to preserving Tustin’s character, while continuing to harness the momentum our community leaders have built over the last few years as we work to preserve and improve our City for generations to come,” he added.
Mr. Lumbard, who currently serves as Chair of Tustin’s Planning Commission and works for an international engineering and construction firm, brings a unique and informed perspective to development issues. Throughout his time on the Planning Commission, he has contributed to the development of Tustin’s neighborhoods, commercial districts, restaurants, schools and parks.
A dedicated Orange County resident, Mr. Lumbard previously served as a reserve deputy for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. This experience shaped Mr. Lumbard’s understanding of the challenges our police and fire personnel face every day and afforded him the opportunity to train alongside the County’s finest and help protect its citizens. In addition, his experience as an attorney, both in the courtroom and at the negotiating table, has equipped him with the tools needed to be an effective representative of the community’s interests. Mr. Lumbard is a proud Tustin Legacy resident where he and his wife, Colleen, are raising their daughter, Aubrey, and three sons, Jack, Wyatt, and Hunter.
